Welcome
to The Slam,
Cicada® magazine's online arena.
Do you
have the wit, the insight, the skill, and the steel-plated ego necessary
to stand up before the legions of faceless critics who might happen
to read your story or poem on the Web? Are you strong enough to risk
being trashed by the masses just for the possibility of winning a
few electronic laurels? Then you're just the sort of writer we're
looking for.
At The
Slam, we want people to submit their poetry and short-short stories
so they can receive feedback from readers. Mind you, the
Slam is not for the faint of heart. We intend to display all criticism—no
matter how brutally honest it may be. You don't have to be a masochist
to send us your work . . . but it helps.
So if
you've got the nerve to strip your talent (or lack thereof) bare
before our visitors, click here for
Slammable submissions.
Or if
you'd rather check out what others have done and heap praise or scorn
upon their efforts, click here to
view slammables.
