Q: Why did I get another bill when I just sent in my check?
A:

We always attempt to process your letters and payments as soon as we get them into our office.  However, it may take up to 4 weeks for payments to be reflected on your account.

Your payment letters and our invoices often cross in the mail.  If it has been more than 4 weeks since you sent in your check, please contact our customer service department:

If you ordered your magazine subscriptions through an agent (such as Publishers Clearing House, American Family Publishers, or a child's school fundraising program), the agent will handle all customer service issues.

 
Q: What forms of payment do you accept for online orders?
A: We only accept payment by credit card for online orders.
 
Q: What credit cards do you accept?
A: We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.
 
Q: I recently received an invoice. How can I pay?
A:

You can pay your invoice with a credit card through this site or by calling our customer service department at 1-800-821-0115.

Q: Do you accept COD?
A: We do not accept CODs.
 
Q: Is it safe to enter my credit card information for ordering products and magazines online?
A:

It is perfectly safe to transmit your credit card information through our site as long as your current browser supports secure credit card transactions. Carus Publishing utilizes the industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to prevent any credit card information you enter from being intercepted. All orders placed through our site are encrypted during transmission to prevent tampering or credit card fraud. We use third party banking and processing agents to process secure credit card transactions, and the credit card information is placed through their security processes. If your browser does not support SSL, you can get an upgrade with Netscape or Microsoft.

To check whether your browser supports SSL, look at the bottom right corner of your screen. If you see a solid key icon on Netscape browsers or a closed padlock icon on Internet Explorer browsers, then the site is secured. If the site is not secure, the key on Netscape will appear broken and the padlock on Internet Explorer will be unlocked. On secured web pages, the “http” in the web address will be replaced by “https.”

Q: Do I have to pay sales tax on my orders?
A:

Regardless of how your order is placed, if your order (excluding magazine subscriptions) is shipped to an address within Illinois, you will have to pay a 6.25% sales tax.

For all orders (books, products, and magazines) shipped to an address in Canada, you will be assessed either a HST 15% or GST 7%.  This charge is included in your shipping charge.
